Ciöcc is a small artisan bike manufacturer from Italy, Bergamo. It has been making bikes for over fifty years now but has never become a global brand. Part of the reason, is that it did not have many wins on key cycling races that attract international attention.
Having said that they are still making a variety of bikes. I am especially interested in the unique type of bikes, not many others manufacturer - a tandem. Ciocc is a specialist tandem bike manufacturer, making aluminium and carbon frames. It even makes e-tandems now with assisted electric engines.
It is the first European electric tandem bike that I have come across. It has an impressive range of up to 360 km, in 30% assisted mode, on flat roads.
Differently, from large bike manufacturers, you can visit Ciöcc without an appointment. It looks like any other medium-size bike shop, and that's where you can also get measured for your custom frame building.
INTERESTING STORY: company name Ciöcc comes from its frame builder Giovanni Pelizzoli, who's nickname was Ciöcc, meaning 'poker faced' in local dialect. Hence the four cloves on the company logo.
