Liteville is a specialist MTB bike manufacturer from Germany. Their main aim is to design the best MTB frame in the market, and they have done a great job so far. Their suspension systems are innovative and getting excellent reviews from hardcore MTB riders.
Essentially it is German engineering, but not manufacturing company. It makes their frames in high tech Taiwan manufacturing plant, while all design and extensive testing takes place in Germany.
Other parts are also made to high tech standard - milled by CDC machines from solid aluminium pieces, and the powerful lasers engrave logos and graphics.
There is a lot of science and engineering going into every mechanical part on their bikes - I don't feel I am qualified to comment on MTB bikes, but I do recommend visiting their site. It has quite detailed and impressive write up on what effort it involves to create these great bikes.
INTERESTING STORY:
I just love this idea - Liteville ships their bikes in completely separate parts. You receive a box and have to assemble it yourself. What a great way to connect with your bike and to understand how it works. I wish I had something like this when I started cycling.
