SAUNA DESIGN TYPE

Iglu is a relatively new and modern design that goes very well with a panoramic window. Barrel saunas (diameter 2,2 m) are more traditional and can feel a little more spacious inside.

CHANGING AREA

If you have a sauna just next to your house you might not need the changing area. But it also allows to preserve the heat better, when people start going in and out of the sauna.

OUTDOOR SEATING

Outdoor seating can be various depths, but note that it reduces the space you have inside. It can be a nice space to relax and cool down, especially if you don't have other seating nearby.

There are many heater options available, but let's start with basics - wood burner or electric? Electric will require electricity supply (standard 220-230V), while wood burner won't.

Both are perfectly fine options - depends if you are after a more modern or more traditional look. Also note that if you choose a changing room, you will have two sets of doors.

LIGHTING

You will need an electricity supply for this. But, it is a great way to add a touch of romance and mystery to your bathing experience. Especially in those months when it gets dark early.

WOOD UPGRADE

Thermowood is highly recommended for building saunas. Heated wood looks better, does not have sap leaks, and will last significantly longer. But, it also adds around 20% to the cost.

Both options come at the same price. Some people enjoy a personal project of building (assembling) their own sauna. In some cases, it's the only delivery option to a harder to reach places.
